About Druk Bhutan Tours
About Druk Bhutan Tours: A Licensed Bhutan Tour Operator Since 2010
Druk Bhutan Tours is a licensed Bhutanese tour operator based in Paro, running trips across Bhutan since 2010. We plan and guide private and small-group tours: cultural journeys, festival visits, luxury stays, motorcycle trips, treks and day hikes. Our license is issued by the Tourism Council of Bhutan. Druk Bhutan Tours is a registered member of the Department of Tourism and a member of the Association of Bhutan Tour Operators (ABTO). Our office is in Bhutan, our guides and drivers are Bhutanese, and the people who plan your trip are the same people who look after you once you land.
Our Story, Since 2010
We began in 2010 as a small team with a simple rule: a guest should spend the day in Bhutan, not waiting for someone to sort out a plan. That rule is still how we work.
A lot has changed since then. Visas moved online, the government revised its fees and standards, and travelers now arrive with sharper questions and clearer ideas. We have changed with it. What we kept is the size of our operation, because it lets you deal with the same person from your first email to your last day.
How We Plan Your Trip
Every trip starts with a conversation: when you travel, how much walking you like, whether you want temples, villages, mountains or all three.
From that we draw up a day-by-day itinerary with honest drive times. Bhutan’s roads are slow and winding. Thimphu to Punakha crosses Dochula Pass, and the road east to Bumthang takes a full day. We plan around that so your trip is not a string of long drives.
We then take care of your visa application and any trek or regional permits. You send us your passport details and a photo. We do the rest.

How We Run Our Tours
Planning
We build your itinerary by email or call, then send a day-by-day plan with realistic drive times. We pace your days so you arrive with energy left.
Visa and permits
Once you book, we submit your visa application and arrange any trek or regional permits. You send passport details and a photo. We do the rest.
Vehicles and drivers
An SUV for couples and small families, a van for larger groups. Our drivers use these mountain roads every week and know where fog and slow stretches show up.
Hotels
We choose by location, cleanliness and how owners treat guests, not by commission. Farmhouse stays are available if you prefer.
When plans change
Landslides and snow can close a road. Your guide re-plans the day on the spot, with an extra night, a different route or a swapped order of sites.
On the trip
Your guide is with you daily, and our office is reachable by phone or WhatsApp if anything comes up.
Responsible Tourism and Local People
Bhutan follows a “high value, low impact” approach, and visitors contribute through a government fee that supports public services, conservation and culture. We add to that locally: our team is Bhutanese, we use local guesthouses and homestays where they suit your trip, and we ask guests to carry out their trash on treks and avoid single-use plastic bottles.
